The studio
About the studio
Corvathane is a small games project with one idea at its centre: casino-style games can be fun to play without money, without a shop and without the tricks that keep people playing longer than they meant to.
Why the name
Ravens and crows are famous for curiosity and for knowing when to leave. We liked that pairing. The raven in our emblem watches the roster; the ranks in the Codex run from Fledgling to Corvid; and the whole site tries to be curious about games while being clear about when to stop.
What we make
Seven original games, each written from scratch: four reel games with different ways of counting, two card games that reward careful decisions and a small thirteen-pocket wheel. Every symbol, name and picture is our own. The pay tables on the game pages are the numbers the games actually use, and the maths was checked by simulating millions of rounds before launch.
Next to the roster sits Inside, an editorial corner for ordinary browser games we enjoy: chess, word puzzles, toys and party games. We review them honestly and link to their official sites. No publisher pays us and nothing there is embedded.
What we refuse to do
- Sell anything. There is no shop, no coin pack and no subscription, and there will not be.
- Pay out anything. Sparks have no cash value and cannot be exchanged or redeemed.
- Use pressure: daily login rewards, streaks, countdowns, limited-time offers or notifications.
- Invent players, reviews or social proof. Every number in your Codex is yours.
- Track you. No analytics, no advertising networks and no cookies.
- Show different content to different visitors. Everyone, including search engines, sees the same pages.
