Accessibility
We want everyone who is old enough to use Corvathane to be able to use it comfortably. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2 at level AA.
What works today
- Every page and every game can be used with a keyboard alone. A skip link at the top of each page jumps to the content, and focus is always visible.
- Game results are announced to screen readers in plain sentences, such as “34 back from 50 sparks”.
- Body text and controls meet a contrast ratio of at least 4.5 to 1 against the dark background.
- Text can be zoomed to 200% without content being cut off, and the layout reflows on narrow screens.
- Animations stop if your device asks for reduced motion. Calm mode in the Codex turns them off on any device.
- Cards in the card games carry text labels such as “queen of hearts”, not just symbols.
Known limits
- Reel symbols are pictures with short text alternatives; a full board is a lot to hear. The result line below each game sums up every round.
- The wheel in Thirteen Spin is decorative for screen readers; the pocket and result are read out in the result line.
